Clear Leadership is a leadership-development program designed to
develop four skills:
Good leaders say what they mean and do as
they say.
- Understand and describe the underlying causes of tension in the
workplace
- Be direct without being dominant or offensive
- Turn conflicts into learning opportunities
- Develop a culture of discipline and consideration
Clear Leadership is founded on the following precept: Good
leaders say what they mean and do as they say.
Typically, people avoid clearly communicating their wants and
needs in an attempt to avoid conflict. To avoid unpleasant
situations, the message is obscured. The need to maintain harmony
not only comes at the expense of the honest exchange
of information, but often promotes further misunderstanding.
The more energy an employee must devote to interpreting what others
do not feel comfortable expressing directly, the less energy he has
to advance business objectives. Clear Leaders, on the other hand,
create an atmosphere of trust by nurturing open and honest
relationships.
We have chosen Clear Leadership for three reasons: It has a
solid scientific foundation, it touches the core elements of
leadership, and it has proved results. The program was developed by
Dr Gervase Bushe. It can be applied to front-line managers as well
as top executives who want to create and engage in honest
conversations that increase management's ability to develop
strategy, problem-solve, inspire, and organize around a shared
vision.
